Growing up, your mother always told you to eat your veggies, right? And now that you have your own children, you tell them the same, but what if you can't afford to feed your children fresh vegetables?
This is the unfortunate reality many families in our community face, with 17% of children in Santa Clara County living in food-insecure households in 2017, according to the American Community Survey (2017).
Valley Verde's goal is to raise $40,000 through the Eat Your Veggies Campaign to help combat food insecurity in our communities. We would like to humbly ask you to help us reach this goal by participating in our Eat your Veggies Radish Challenge!
You can help us raise the $40,000 by becoming a Radish Champion and donating $20 to Valley Verde, and asking 5 of your friends to donate $20 each as well. If you do this within 2 weeks, then you're all set, BUT for every $20 you don't raise within 2 weeks, you'll have to eat a raw radish.
Ask a friend to record you eating the radish, post it on social media with #eatyourveggies and tag @valleyverde.
In the end, you'll either help us raise $120, spread the word, or Eat Your Veggies!
